http://blogs.indiewire.com/animationscoop/walt-disney-and-jim-henson-so-similar-so-different
this article is titled, "Walt Disney and Jim Henson. So similar, so different". while reading this article i learned that theres a book about Jim Hensons life. i learned that himself and Walt Disney have a lot in common such as their childhood homes. i also learned that mickey mouse was inspired by Walt and Kermit was inspired by Jim.
i really enjoyed reading this article. i think it gave a lot of details and awesome information.
they didn't say where you could buy the book so that is my only question.

this article is titled, "Storyboarding tips from DreamWorks". and the title is pretty self explanatory. i learned that drawing a grid before you draw your characters can often help a lot in most cases. i learned that background sells depth. by saying this i mean, make your background stand out from your surroundings. i also learned that when you grow characters, its not random. you should logically group them.
while reading this article i really liked the advice they had to give you. i feel like it will help out a lot. i also liked how they incorporated pictures to show you what you should do.
the only question i have is how they only listed 4 advices. the should give more to let us know about other things.

what i learned this week was was the terms and formats used and the color wheel.
i would like to learn more about them because its hard for me to memorize things.
something that frustrated me this week was trying to memorize the terms. there are just so many!
something that made me happy this week was the project that was assigned and the audio project coming up. I'm so excited to get these started. they seem so cool and fun to do!
my link of interest this week is about the history of halloween since its coming up. i find it so interesting and its my favorite holiday ever. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween

this article is titled, "Chipotle Scarecrow makes enemies to win costumers". what i learned while reading this article was that this video attracted scads of publicity, media attention and tons of controversy. it was about how the food industry claims that their food is "all natural" but really it is just a scam for marketed products. i agree with the video and i now understand how some industries will take that to heart. i also learned this this is not considered advertising. it is instead called, narrative. narrative works differently in an online space.
i really liked this article. it was fun to read and interesting. i also enjoyed the videos this article had.
i have no questions about this article.

this article is called "How do film makers manipulate our emotions with music". before reading this article i did not know that how important background music just was to the film making industry. i learned that its also not highly stressed or talked about in films. most directors dont approve of the background music. in one of my favorite movies, Pyscho directed by Alfred Hitchcook, he told his composer to not add any music to the famous shower scene in the movie. the composer however, decided to add it. Hitchcook of course, changed his mind. i did not know that.
i really liked reading this article. it was interesting to me and i knew most of the movies they were talking about.
the only question i have is why is background music so important? they pin pointed the sounds in movies but didn't really explain why.

this week i learned that there are many more details about color and not just what your eye can see. i learned that each color has a meaning and importance.
i would love to learn about this in the future.
something that frustrated me this week was the retouching exercise. it made me very angry that i couldn't get the colors just right. photoshop kept giving me a color that wasn't what i wanted.
something that made me happy was the coloring exercise with the black and white pictures. it was very easy and simple and i enjoyed doing it.
my link of interest this week is about my favorite photographer/ artist Salvador Dali. i love how different and unique he is and his work inspires me to think out of the box. if you want to learn more about him, click the link provided. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Dal%C3%AD

this week I learned about cinematography and video! I also learned the terms of video and its not all about the important roles. there's so many little but huge jobs in the video industry.
I would love to learn more about in the near future and I'm so excited to start projects for video!
something that frustrated me this week was getting used to photoshop again. I forgot all about where what tool is and that was confusing.
something that made me happy this week was getting to know and meet the newbies! they are all really cool and I cant wait for this years close with them! plus I'm glad we are using photoshop and getting more into photography.
something I saw that was really cool recently was this picture of a sink hole in Canada. its really fascinating to me how these things form all the sudden. and this one especially because it is so close to home. I would love to see and investigate one of these someday. and here is a link if your interested on what a sinkhole is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinkhole
