this week i started learning after effects! i learned how to animate pictures and texts. i learned that its not as easy as it looks. its so much work and its going to take some practice. i also learned a lot about typography and how theres much more to type then just fonts and spaces.
what i would like to more in the future is more on after effects! i would love to expand my knowledge further and really be creative.
my link of interest this week is the history on thanksgiving. its coming up and I'm so excited! ever wondered how thanksgiving originated? well f you have, check out this link! hope everyone has a turkey filled thanksgiving!

this article is titled, "Monday Mouse watch: how the team behind Disney's "get a horse" uses breakthrough technology to create the look of a 1928 short" and the title is self explanatory. three things i learned while reading this article is that visually creating something that was produced a while ago in todays technology is a lot of hard work. i learned that in order to create this look the animators needed to adjust the brightness level in every frame to create that flickering effect. lastly i learned that this short will be aired on november 27th!
two opinions i have while reading this article was that i thought it was very well put and easy to read.
i have no questions for this article.

http://blog.animationmentor.com/vfx-industry-jobs-and-you/
this article is titled "VFX industry, jobs and you" its about the visual effects industry. in this article i learned that theres many jobs involved in the visual effects industry such as film. broadcast, commercials and games. i learned that video games in particular have rapid expansion in the industry. lastly, i also learned the level of craft work can be found majority in games.
two opinions i have while reading this article is that they don't get any example of a major game in where they focus primarily on VFX. they should have put that in there. also, i really enjoyed the videos they put in the article.
the only question i have about this article is that how does one prepare to be stepping into this field?

this week i learned about putting together videos the right way and how to import and export properly witch is very helpful. and i learned how to screenshot pictures in premiere.
what i would like to learn in the future is more about filming styles and how to use them properly. i usually just stick to one specific filming style so i would like to see what else i can adapt to and work with. i would like to step out of my comfort zone.
my link of interest this week is the most watched series on tv, the Walking Dead. this series has the best FX zombie makeup ever and in every episode they make the zombies very convincing. check it out for yourself on just how the special effects is done in this link. http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead/crew/greg-nicotero-co-executive-producerspecial-effects-make-up-designer

this article is titled, "how to shoot with natural light". the title is self explanatory. i learned that shooting with natural light can really help your movie look more advanced. i learned that it important to recognize before going into the production using only available light. i learned that it will not make things easier.
the two opinions i have on this article is that they should have shown more pictures and examples. i also think that they had little information.
the only question i have on this article is what the best time to shot a film in natural light?

this week i learned about a lot of things. i learned that filming has a lot more to it than i thought. theres so many buttons and techniques on a camera. theres a lot more to it then just picking it up and recording. i learned how to use a dolly and a tripod. i also learned more techniques in premiere that i didn't know already.
what i would like to learn in the future is more about the camera and different types of cameras. its still difficult for me to know what buttons witch and how to get the right shot.
something that made me happy this week was doing the video scavenger hunt. it was fun and easy and i enjoyed it very much.
my link of interest will be about the new star trek film called "Star Trek into Darkness"! I'm already a nerd when it comes to star trek and this movie i thought was really awesome. i think even if you weren't a fan of star trek and you watched this movie, you would still think it was awesome. if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it! http://www.blastr.com/2013-9-11/14-things-made-star-trek-darkness-so-controversial
